What does “In-Market” vs. “Out-of-Market” mean for Tampa Bay Lightning?

Fri, 3 Oct, 2025 at 3:12 PM

"In-Market" means you are within the regional broadcast territory determined by the NHL and Scripps Sports. This territory includes the Tampa Bay Area and extends to markets like Orlando, Gainesville, Tallahassee, and Pensacola.

Access:

  • In-Market: You have access to the Lightning app subscription and local broadcasts.

  • Out-of-Market: You are outside this territory and must subscribe to the NHL's national out-of-market packages (like ESPN+).

How to Check Your Location: To find out if your specific location is eligible, you must visit the team's official "How to Watch" page and use their zip code checker. To prevent streaming problems, set your home location under My account > location. You can also verify this directly on the web at https://www.tblightning.tv/location-settings.
